With the opening of the new Prehistoric Galleries at the Wiltshire Museum, our artefact of the month is a bead made of gold wire wound around a shale core from the Early Bronze Age burial of a woman at Preshute G1a. It testifies to the skill of the goldsmiths in the Early Bronze Age and may have been part of a necklace. Artefact now on permanent display at the Wiltshire Museum.
