Bone and antler were used in the Iron Age to make a variety of items, even human bone was used, items such as pins for holding clothing together or sewing to elaborate necklaces and other adornments. After being worked to shape they could be given a high polish. The original function of many of these items is unknown, but it is likely these artefacts were worn as a form of jewellery. Artefacts located at the Wiltshire Museum.
